Berlin has always been a city of stories. People from David Bowie to W.H. Auden to Christopher Isherwood have lived in Berlin and told stories of their lives in the city. Last year alone, thousands of expats moved to Berlin, from all over the world, to find themselves, seek opportunities, or to escape hardship. Whether they came with the intention of staying a week, a year, or their whole lives, they deserve to see all that this fantastic city has to offer – and they undoubtedly have their own stories to tell.
We want to create a more educated, involved and included English-speaking community in Berlin! There’s an enormous market for English-language audio content in the city, and endless stories waiting to be told by Berlin’s podcasting community.
This is why we’re establishing Bear Radio, Berlin’s premier English-language podcasting network/label. Bear Radio provides an online platform for Berlin’s talented podcast producers to distribute their work, and a place for Berlin’s English speaking community to access engaging audio content about the city. We’ll be a one-stop shop for English language audio content on everything from local news, politics, culture, comedy, sports, and more. Bear Radio will launch in December, and we’re looking forward to expanding the network. We want to create radio for Berliners, by Berliners!
