Time to vote! For many EU citizens it will be last time to vote

Tomorrow the Greater London Authority elections take place (Mayor and Assembly) as well as local council elections in England (outside London).

EU citizens still have the right to vote in these elections and it is important that as many of them as possible do so.

We are still working to#GetOuttheVote (Opens in a new window)and to remind EU citizens to take their Voter ID with them to the polling station.

For many EU citizens this could be their last chance to vote in UK elections.

The Government has introduced legislation to strip EU citizens of the right to vote in local elections depending on their country of origin.

Only citizens from EU countries where there is a bilateral agreement with the UK government will be able to vote.

This is unfair and discriminatory and will create a complicated and costly new system.

We want to send the strongest possible message tomorrow that EU citizens value their vote.

We are counting on your support to be able to do this.

As Kate Willoughby reminded us at the start of the campaign, in the role of the suffragette and suffragist Emily Wilding Davison:

"Without a vote, we do not have a voice"

Help us make sure EU citizens have a voice and that every vote is made to count.

With thanks and appreciation,

The New Europeans UK Campaign Team
